My first knowledge of Tai Seng – an industrial park, another ulu place in my definition.
I was in Tai Seng once when I visited my friend’s event company. Never would I associate “happening” to this vicinity.
23 Jumpin – the name is rather catchy I would say. “23” happened to be my favourite number too cos it’s my birth date
It’s such a small setup – with capacity of 18-22 pax and a couple of tables alfresco style.
I actually prefer such small setup as it’s more cosy and intimate
Patrons are mostly office workers around the vicinity as well as young gals and cafe goers like us. (hope we are associated as a young crowd too haha)
My date & I arrived at the cafe at around 11.45am, it was pretty empty then with just a table being occupied.
This lime coloured couch helps to brighten up the whole setup.
Ready with our order, I proceeded to the counter to place our order and make payment. Btw, they don’t charge service charge or GST (Government Service Tax).
You can help yourself with the iced water at the counter as well as salt, sugar and pepper. They do serve your food to your table even though they don’t charge service charge.
Here comes our lunch! 😋
Eggs Benedict – $14 (Brunch is available till 6pm)
It may look just like the normal eggs benedict that other cafes also serve. But the way how the eggs were done is simply perfect, nothing to complain about, the hollandaise sauce totally complemented it. I would probably rate this as one of my favourite eggs benedicts. 👍
Honey Paprika Wings – $8
I’ve tried it at Lola’s Cafe previously and I still remember how great their wings was. I was totally wowed by this which now topped my list, the sweetness from the honey and the spiciness from the paprika powder made such a heavenly chemistry. Okay, so this shall be my “Must-Order” of 23 Jumpin!
D’or Charcoal Waffles – $12
There’s no picture in their menu so I didn’t really expect to be served with a “black” waffle haha. We are given a choice of chocolate or maple syrup. Opted for the latter for a lighter tastebuds. The “black” waffle is topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, two pieces of toasted marshmallows and wafer sticks. The waffle is crispy at the side, love its soft and light texture.
We decided to try out their coffee after our meal. Pretty decent I would say. We ordered a cappucino and a flat white. The cappucino came first, the staff just placed it down without telling us what drink was that. I almost thought the first drink was my flat white 😆
Seems that their pasta is pretty popular as well. Will definitely be back to try them out. Oh if you happen to visit, do remember to order their honey paprika wings. 😋
